On March 16 we will have an extended inspirational session about networking, with opportunities to actually network. We will end the session festively with bites and drinks.
We organize this with MentorProgramma Friesland. Speaker of this session is Cyrilo Helmus, entrepreneur in creative business, an artist, and an X-Honours’ student himself. And there will be multiple interesting professionals from diverse working fields in the session to help you with your networking questions and to add to your network. Above all other things, we hope to inspire you in this MentorEvent.
We know that many students of X-Honours value our community for its network opportunities. We also know that students often struggle with thoughts like: “How am I supposed to know how to network?”, “It’s scary and unfamiliar”, and most of all: “How?!”
This session will be a low-barrier occasion to ask questions and gain tips on expanding your network to reach your goal, or to expand your network as a good thing in itself. And maybe you get this golden tip for the next step in reaching your ambitions.
In preparation of this session, we ask you to think about your own ambitions, and come up with at least one learning question you bring to the table that is related to networking.
About the speaker
Cyrilo Helmus is a Creative Business Manager. A true jack of all trades, but specialized in media production and digital branding. Currently, he is studying Creative Business and has taken part in X-Honours before, but already he has years of experience in the creative industry as a recording artist, songwriter and co-producer, working with partners and clients internationally. Additionally, Cyrilo has been connected with MentorProgramma Friesland for many years, both as a mentee and as a studentmentor, and he will start the session about networking.
Apart from Cyrilo, you will be introduced to other external professionals during the session: John Vernooij (CEO Omrin), Steven van Griethuijsen (Productmanager Lending Ohpen), Fonny Krol-Postma (Lawyer Bunder Advocaten) and Wim Dijkman (advisor Economic Affairs Municipality of Leeuwarden). They are all there to help you and give you opportunities to actually network. If you are interested in the mentor programme Friesland, either as a mentee or as a student mentor, you will be in the occasion to get some more information.
The session will be taking place at the locations of Leeuwarden (X-Lab), Emmen (room 1080) or Meppel (room 15). Registration is not necessary anymore, but stay at home if you have Covid related complaints, consider a self-test to be sure and try to keep your distance. We take care of the fourth rule: ventilation!
