The overthinking rationality check (11 November)

Overthinking

Sometimes you just need to sleep on something to see things clearer. In the adverse case you don’t get any sleep at all. While everyone overthinks a few things once in a while, chronic over-thinkers spend most of their waking time ruminating, which puts pressure on themselves.

Overthinking can take many forms such as endlessly deliberating when making a decision, questioning the decision, attempting to read minds, trying to predict the future or reading into the smallest of details. Often people confuse overthinking with problem-solving, but they just go in a loop and they are not really solving a problem.

Find yourself trapped in thought-loops?

After a very inspiring session about overthinking last academic year, we are happy to welcome Tatiana Naaijer-Ciff for a follow-up. In the forthcoming session she will provide us with a rationality check on any thought loops we might be trapped in.

We hope you join us in another interesting session which will provide you with the tools to manage your thoughts, beliefs and emotions in an efficient way. Don’t sit on the fence about what to do, just make sure that you partake!

All students from NHL Stenden are welcome to join this session. It will be casted in Blackboard Collaborate, starting at 14.30 hrs. You can ‘walk in’ 15 minutes earlier and have a chat if you like.

Students that are subscribed to X-Honours are asked to join via the X-Honours’ Blackboard course.
